NOVA Hope for Haiti Provides Lifesaving Medical Care In Haiti

How NOVA Hope Keeps the Community of Cavaillon Healthy

WHY HAITI

Most Rural Areas Have No Access to Health Care, Making Residents Susceptible to Otherwise Treatable Diseases.

In 2013, there were approximately 800 primary care facilities in Haiti, with only 43% of these facilities being classified as good for accessible care. Only 8% of people living in rural areas having access to one of these facilities.

Why NOVA Hope for Haiti?

NOVA Hope Has Been Around Since 2002

NOVA Hope for Haiti, Inc. was established as a non-profit corporation in 2005. Since then private sector direct giving, from people just like you, have been our sole source of funding.

How We Help the Community Outside of Medical Care

While our primary mission is to provide medical care to our community, NOVA also strives to be a place where our neighbors and patient families come for social activities and gatherings.
Local children come to play soccer on a field in our backyard designated as a soccer field. We host movie nights (complete with popcorn!) for the neighborhood to enjoy. We encourage other community organizations to use our space for seminars and meetings.

Keep NOVA Hope for Haiti’s Mission Alive

NOVA depends on your generosity to keep a community of 50,000 people in Caviallon Haiti healthy through the year. All donations go directly toward our staff salaries, medications, childhood immunizations and health programs such as hypertension, diabetes and women’s health.

OUR IMPACT

What NOVA Hope Means to Cavaillon, Haiti

Our experiences in Haiti showed us that more could be achieved if a permanent medical facility was established. A permanent medical clinic could provide local and follow-up care and a base for future medical missions to Haiti. In addition, health education and preventive measures could be implemented. These measures would increase the well-being of Haitians, reduce sickness, reduce the need for emergency care, and save lives.

Medical care could be provided at a much lower cost, more quickly, and more effectively. The concept of a permanent medical facility became our new goal. In October 2014, we opened our brand new medical clinic to serve the community of Cavaillon year-round.
